Women's Basketball pulls away to beat Ridgewater

The Anoka-Ramsey Women's Basketball team was locked in a tight battle with Ridgewater on Saturday afternoon before the Golden Rams used a big fourth quarter to pull away for the win, 69-52.

It was the fourth straight win for the Golden Rams to improve their MCAC Southern Division record to 5-1.

The Golden Rams led by five early in the fourth quarter before using a 9-0 run to take command, as the lead grew to 20 points midway thru the period.

Anoka-Ramsey held Ridgewater to just 30 percent shooting and forced 24 turnovers.

Mariam Alowonle and Destiny Casey each scored 20 points for the Golden Rams, and each pulled in 11 rebounds.

Tereya McDaniel-Vaughn scored 11 points, and Jada Lussier dished out seven assists.

Anoka-Ramsey improves to 17-4 overall and travels to league rival Minnesota West on Wednesday night for a matchup between the top two teams in the Southern Division standings.
