Aoka-Ramsey Athletics has announced the hiring of Sami Hilley as Head Volleyball Coach for the Golden Rams.

Hilley comes to Anoka-Ramsey from Champlin Park schools, where she works in special education and is the head coach of the boys high school varsity volleyball team.  She also served as the girls 9th grade head coach, and assisted the girls varsity.

Hilley and her family are well-known in the Twin Cities volleyball community.  Sami was a standout athlete at Champlin Park High School before playing collegiately at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.  In 2022 she was named the team's Most Valuable Player, and was a WIAC All-Conference selection in 2023, with honorable mention recognition in 2021 and 2022.

Hilley currently holds the #1 and #2 spots in the UWRF record book for single-season attack percentage (.388 in both 2022 and 2023), as well as the top spot in career attack percentage (.374).  She also ranks sixth in career blocks with 192.

Sami's sister Sydney played volleyball at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and continues to play professionally.

In addition to her high school coaching, Sami has coached at the club level with Minnesota Select, one of the top volleyball clubs in the state.

"We're excited to add Sami to our coaching staff at Anoka-Ramsey," said Director of Athletics Jessica Pelzel.  "We compete in one of the toughest NJCAA DIII conferences in the country.  Sami's background as a player - not far removed from competing in college - and coaching at the high school and club level, will be beneficial both on the court and in recruiting as we look to elevate Golden Ram volleyball in the MCAC and NJCAA Region XIII."

Anoka-Ramsey finished the 2025 season 7-18 overall, and had two players named MCAC All-South Division.
