Volleyball Picks up Win over Riverland in Weekend Series

The Anoka-Ramsey Volleyball team picked up another weekend split, beating Riverland 3-0 before falling to nationally-ranked MN West 3-0.
In the victory on Friday, the Golden Rams got 19 kills from Ashley Strang and 16 from Anastasia Vlasyuk.
Melissa Schmit recorded 34 assists, and the Golden Rams had 73 total digs in the three sets winning by scores of 25-14, 30-28, and 25-17.
MN West came to town the following afternoon and left with a 3-0 sweep over the Golden Rams. The LadyJays entered the contest ranked #3 in the nation and showed why in beating Anoka-Ramsey by scores of 25-9, 25-17, and 25-17.
Vlasyuk had 11 kills, with Strang adding 10. Schmit had 18 assists.
The Golden Rams are 6-12 overall, 3-7 in the MCAC Southern Division.
