The Anoka-Ramsey Men's Basketball team is off to a 3-0 start to begin the 2025-26 season, with all wins coming against MCAC Northern Division teams.
The Golden Rams tipped-off the season with an 85-64 win over MN North Itasca behind a balanced effort. All 11 players that saw action scored in the game led by 16 points from Jamal Woods, 12 from Akeem Nelson, and 11 from Preston Thielke who added 18 rebounds.
Anoka-Ramsey followed that up with a 80-72 win over MN North Vermilion thanks in part to Thielke's 22 points and nine rebounds. Jamin Cook Jr. scored 16 points, Woods added 14, and Dwayne Bryant chipped in 11 points off the bench.
Next came a narrow 89-87 road win over Central Lakes. Woods poured in 29 points making 5 of 8 from the three-point line. Nelson scored 18 points with a perfect 7-7 on free throws. Thielke added another double-double with 13 points and 11 boards, with Andrew Chisley scoring ten points.
Next up for the Golden Rams is a trip to MN North Hibbing and Rainy River November 14-15.
