If you are into more of an action Anime this is the perfect pick for you! This is a show that is currently ongoing and has episodes coming out weekly on Saturdays. The main concept of the show is a boy named Sung Jin-woo who is a demon hunter originally ranked having an E-level fighting ability, the lowest ranking possible, and it is almost impossible to change your rank once given. Or so everyone thought until it happened. One day he goes to fight a supposedly D-rank dungeon but goes to find out that it is much more powerful than what was originally thought. I won’t spoil too much of the beginning as the suspense the episode brings when watching it will surely make you want to know what happens throughout the show. After going through this dungeon Sung Jin-woo finds himself in a video game like setting constantly leveling up his abilities and defying the odds that everyone knows. That is kind of the background going into the show but there is so much more that happens to get him to these points.

I have never really been into Anime shows, mostly because I couldn't find one that caught my attention or really hooked me in wanting more. This was the first show that I got into and am still interested in, after watching just the first episode I just needed to know what else happens. I think a large part of why the show hooks people in is the cliff hangers that it leaves everyone on at the end of each episode.

Jin-Woo is often very nonchalant throughout the show and shows very little emotion unless it comes to his family. The main reason that he feels a need to get stronger and become the best hunter is that his mother is in an eternal sleep and the potion needed to wake her up can only be achieved through leveling up. Along with   Jin-Woo is his best friend is Yoo Jin-ho who is the only hunter to stay by his side no matter what rank he was given. Along with these two characters the other characters are definitely part of the plot, but they never really go into details about a lot of other characters because Jin-Woo is the main character in the show.

Going along with the show there are currently only 2 seasons, and the second one is still on going as episodes continue to come out. But not only is there a show but there are also manga books to go along with it, although these books are much farther along i in the plot than the show is. The whole collection of books comes out to 14 volumes if you are looking at the version not in English but looking at English version there are about 9 volumes I believe. I have not read the books for myself but have heard nothing but good things about them from other people and might even consider reading them in the future once I have finished the show. The show is an amazing pick if you are first getting into the Anime genre, book or show, and is a must watch in my opinion especially if you enjoy more action-packed shows and books.
