The event featured a reading and interview led by Jamie Randall, an English faculty member at ARCC. Treuer’s visit offered students, faculty, staff, and community members an opportunity to hear from the acclaimed author and engage with his work.

Treuer’s writing has also made an impact in ARCC classrooms. Approximately 600 students at the college have read his young adult novel Where Wolves Don’t Die or other works by Treuer as part of their coursework.

The event welcomed students from area schools, including 45 students from Irondale High School and eight students from Perpich Center for the Arts, who traveled to campus to attend the program.

The reading and interview were video recorded and will be made available to ARCC faculty, staff, and students after closed captioning is completed.

The event was organized by the Two Rivers Reading Series Committee, chaired by Paige Riehl and including Chris McCarthy, Jamie Randall, Beth Weixel, Jennifer Willcutt, and Jasmin Ziegler. Funding for the event was provided by the English Division.

Established in 1999, the Two Rivers Reading Series has brought award-winning authors to the ARCC campus for more than 25 years, connecting students and the wider community with writers and their work.
